Using Passkeys to Secure Your Account

Enhance the security of your Eleplan account with Passkeys! This feature adds an additional layer of protection to your account and ensures the confidentiality of your care plans. The best part? They're shared between your devices, so creating a passkey on one device, flows through to any other device you login with. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to generate and use Passkeys for authentication. To learn more about Passkeys, click here for an overview from Apple.

Generating a New Passkey:

Navigate to User Settings:
- Access the User Settings page within the Eleplan app.

Locate Passkeys Section:
- Look for the Passkeys section; here, you'll find a "New" button.

Generate a New Passkey:
- Click the "New" button to generate a unique Passkey for your device, it's okay if you have multiple, this is intentional as you can have multiple passkeys for different devices.

Enable Lock Screen:
- Upon generating a Passkey, the lock screen feature is automatically enabled. The lock screen is shown after 10 minutes of inactivity. With a passkey, your account is now infinitely secure, as only your face, fingerprint, pass code or Chrome profile can unlock it, across all of your devices!

Utilizing Passkeys for Enhanced Security:

- Cross-Device Credential:
- Your Passkey credentials are seamlessly available across devices, providing secure access. This means that generating a passkey on your iPhone, for example, will work seamlessly across your other Apple products to unlock your account.

- Lock Screen Activation:
- The lock screen activates after 10 minutes of inactivity, adding an extra layer of security. While it may seem simple to just log out of your account, it means you need to log back in at some point and remember a password. With passkeys, there are no more passwords.

- Biometric Verification:
- Press the "Unlock" button on the lock screen to verify your identity using biometrics, a pass code or your Chrome profile.

Securing Your Account:

- Less Secure Option Without Passkey:
- If you choose not to generate a Passkey, you can still enable the lock screen. However, keep in mind that it will be a less secure feature, allowing anyone to press the "Unlock" button.

By utilizing Passkeys, you enhance the overall security of your Eleplan account, safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring a secure access experience for you and anyone else you choose to give access to your account.
